As you probably know, family is a big part of God’s design for the spiritual formation of the next generation. Consequently, home is one of Satan’s greatest strategic targets in his attempts to thwart the progression of the gospel throughout history and among cultures. We know from experience that we often need equipping, sometimes complete renovation, and always prayer for our family life. My guess is, you do too. This is a big week for that at Bay Area Church. Here’s the low down.
January 26-27 (Thursday and Friday) – Angela and I will be guests on the radio show “Family Life Today” with Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine. We will be talking about the concept of being relentless in our heart connection with our children and teens even when it is really difficult. We share in a brutally honest way, from my perspective, about our own struggles as parents. It will be an encouragement and help to you. The show is syndicated and will play in every market in the country. If you are in the Houston area, you can listen at 12:30 PM on 105.7 FM or 88.3 FM at 9:05 PM. January 28 – Parent Summit – This is our annual event to equip parents and grandparents to disciple their children and grand children in every season of life. This will be both inspiring and equipping for you. If you have not registered you are welcome to walk-in and register at 8:30 Saturday morning. Author and Speaker, Brian Houseman will be speaking from the main-stage, and Bay Area Church parents and grandparents will be leading breakout sessions designed to equip you to lead your child to the next milestone along their spiritual growth path. It will be an amazing day that will matter for the Kingdom sake in your family life.
January 29 – On Sunday Guest Speaker, Brian Houseman will speak to all of us about leaving a legacy of faith. Whether you are married, single, parenting or not, young or senior, this is an important message for you from God’s word. It would be a great day to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Brian is one of the best in our country on this topic. You do not want to miss!
Please be in prayer for all of this over the next few days. This is a spiritual endeavor requiring the work of the Holy Spirit to bear spiritual fruit that we could never manufacture on our own. Beg God for it. I hope to see you Saturday and Sunday.
