Some sage advice I got from spiritual fathers helping me navigate life as a pastor. Thought it might speak to you too. #pastor

  1. Don’t try to change the world, just be faithful to your calling.
  2. Stay in your lane. Focus pays off. You don’t have to know everything about everything.
  3. Bloom where you are planted. Long, faithful tenure will bear Kingdom fruit.
  4. Bigger isn’t always bad but it isn’t always better.
  5. You hurt most where you love most. Expect some pain.
  6. Spiritual warfare is legit. You will experience it personally, in your family, and in your church.
  7. Slow is fast in the long run.
  8. NEVER neglect sitting in the presence of God alone. Hear and obey him.
  9. Nothing hidden. A few people need to know everything about you.
  10. Jesus is the name that matters. Not yours.

  1. Hi Brian, It’s been a long time, how are you?Just wanted to bounce something off of you, do you have or is there a chance that you still offer counseling? If so how can I set up a meeting with you?  Thank you,Mark

  2. Thanks Brian, needed to hear that today. As I minister to others through teaching and counseling, spiritual warfare is real… leaving us fighting the flaming arrows of doubt in the place God has me. Be well brother! Praying for you and Bay Area regularly.
