Rock-star Gospel

I am weary of the false gospel of self, where men manipulate the good news for personal gain and fame in a quest to become spiritual rock-stars. Perhaps the most idolotrous sin is to use the lense of the gospel to focus the attention of people on anyone other than Jesus. When the gospel being presented says, “Hey look at me,” you can be sure that it is tainted. The true Gospel only focuses the gaze of people on the second person of the Trinity: The God-Man. His name is Jesus; there is no other name by which men and women can be saved. This is the Gospel: Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, he was buried, he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He is the main character in the God-story.  He is the King. He is the Passover Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.  He is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. He is the Great Hope. He is for the nations. He is the Bright and Morning Star. He is not a rock star. In today’s world anyone can be a rock star for a moment.  Only Jesus can be the star of forever, past, present, and future.

    Good morning, Brian!

My name is Bryce Morgan, and I’m a pastor here in sunny Arizona. I am also the creator of a new gospel-centered resource called “Rescue Me! What Superheroes Can Teach Us about the Power of Faith”. Like so many families, my three kids (ages 10, 7, and 5) love characters like Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. From cartoons to books to movies, superheroes seem to be everywhere these days! But here’s how “Rescue Me!” is different. Using a hero named Captain Sun, my book takes classic hero themes and connects kids back to God’s word. But don’t take my word for it. Download a free preview copy of the book from my website and see for yourself (www.itscaptainsun.com/preview)(it’s 75% of the book!). I think your readers will love it!

If you like what you see and would like to do a review, I’m happy to send you a copy of the book for yourself or for a giveaway (or can send one directly to winner).

I’m grateful for your help in spreading the word about this unique resource. Thanks!

    In His grace,

    Bryce

    Ouch!!
The recent tribulations I’ve been through I do not emulate ,act, or even represent this but “wow” it feels like I did! My intentions are pure! I only represent what my Lord and Savior allow me to!
